Born on a studio floor
Lockabl was founded by a television producer who spent over 15 years making live entertainment shows. During one recording he realised how often mobile phones were spoiling the magic: ringtones interrupted performances, spoilers leaked online and audiences were more focused on their screens than on the stage.
Existing phone-locking solutions were too expensive or impractical for British productions and felt aimed more at schools and the education sector.
